Why a Routine Cleaning Is Not Right for Every New Patient

A standard prophylaxis is preventive care for a patient whose examination supports that type of cleaning. Bleeding, deeper pockets, bone loss, or heavier deposits may indicate periodontal disease that requires a different diagnosis and treatment plan.

BLVD will not represent deep cleaning or periodontal therapy as part of the $300 special. If a standard prophylaxis is not clinically appropriate, the team will explain the findings and alternatives before treatment.

Important: the examination determines which type of cleaning is appropriate. The $300 special does not include scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance, specialist care, or additional dental treatment.
